Venus is the goddess of love and beauty, and was born on the island of Cyprus. The island of Cyprus is know for its copper which was used to make mirror which is one of Venus' symbols and an ancient symbol for copper. Biologically, copper is more abundant in woman than it is in men and it is known for its anti-microbial properties and kills bacteria, viruse and yeasts on contact (which is something I took into account with the current pandemic that's going on). Copper is used in communication and women have been know to be better communicators. Copper is also a relatively stable element that is one of the coolest metals (temperature wise). I really wanted to emphasize these aspects of Venus especially with the Venus' that were made not only to be looked at but gazed upon. I wanted to contrast them with bold colors and an earthy quality that shifts the narrative from their bodies (and carnal descriptors) to the wonderful qualities and life that women contribute to the world.
